“Scout & Guide
The Scout and Guide movement is a global youth movement that aims to develop young people’s physical, mental, and spiritual capacities. It emphasizes outdoor activities, community service, and personal development through a variety of programs and activities.
Scouting and Guiding originated in the early 20th century, with Robert Baden-Powell founding the Boy Scouts in 1907 and his sister Agnes Baden-Powell founding the Girl Guides (later known as Girl Scouts) in 1910. These organizations quickly gained popularity worldwide, inspiring the formation of similar groups in many countries.
Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC Srikona’s involvement in the Scout and Guide movement is commendable. Students actively participate in various competitions and levels within the movement, showcasing their skills and dedication.
At the Vidyalaya level, students engage in Pratham and Dwitiya Sopan competitions, demonstrating their proficiency and commitment to the principles of scouting and guiding. These competitions likely involve tasks and challenges that test their abilities in areas such as knot tying, camping skills, first aid, and community service.
Furthermore, students from Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC Srikona showcase their talents and accomplishments at the regional level in competitions such as Tritiya and Rajyapuroskar within the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) state. Participation at this level indicates their high level of skill and dedication, as they compete with peers from other schools in the region.
Involvement in the Scout and Guide movement not only fosters personal development but also instills values of leadership, teamwork, and service among the students, contributing to their holistic growth and character formation.”>
